Closed For The Season
With the Lady Vols’ Championship run at a finish; that also will bring my time here at Legions of the Miserable to a close for this season. I’ll be back when the wind turns crisp and the air turns cool, and the sounds of “Rocky Top” can be heard echoing from the big place by the river. It has been a great run here, and although I got a late start covering football this season, I had a great time following the basketball teams and coaches Pearl and Summitt. I’ve enjoyed writing about the games, and I’ve enjoyed trying to find nuggets that Tennessee fans would enjoy.
I’d like to thank everyone for making Legions of the Miserable so much more successful than what I expected it to be (well, I didn’t think that it would bomb, but still), as the amount of visits that I’ve had, have made me very happy. I’m taking the summer off, because I’d really be insincere if I said that I had any interest in covering the summer sports. I do this site for Tennessee fans, but I also do it for me, and as much as I enjoy football and basketball, the other college sports just don’t hold that much of an interest to me. I appreciate those athletes and what they do, but I’ll leave the covering of those sports to those who truly love them.
I’ll be back around July-August and I’ll bring the Legions of the Miserable with me then. I’ll have some new bells and whistles and hopefully, some fresh ideas for the new season. If you can’t live without me until then I’ll be over at Threestrikesandout.com, but be warned, it’s much different from what you get here, and I can’t guarantee not to offend.
